Idaho Falls, ID (PRWEB) February 27, 2014

Sean McBride, Critical Intelligences Director of Analysis, shared insights into targeting methodologies on Critical Infrastructure, in his presentation, Effects-Based Targeting for Critical Infrastructure, at the 2014 RSA Conference in San Francisco, CA, on February 25.

As part of the presentation, McBride shared ground-breaking information about how the United States identified and compromised the industrial control systems engineering firm responsible for building out the systems at the heart of Irans Natanz uranium enrichment facility.

McBride, who oversees development and execution of the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Threat and Vulnerability Intelligence Program at Critical Intelligence, explained that ICS engineering and integration firms in the USA are likewise high value targets due to access they have to critical facilities. Critical Intelligence promoted the concept of Reconnaissance and Attack Surface Management to mitigate the effects of such targeting.

We are honored by the opportunity to have Sean represent Critical Intelligence at RSA this year, said Robert Huber, President of Critical Intelligence. His presentation offers in-depth insight into how critical infrastructure asset owners and operators can protect themselves from potential threats.

The RSA Conference has consistently attracted the world’s best and brightest in the field, creating opportunities to learn about IT security’s most important issues through first-hand interactions with peers, luminaries and emerging and established companies. The conference plays an integral role in keeping security professionals across the globe connected and educated.
